It was released before Tazza and marked the first collaboration between actors Lee Byung-Hun and Song Hye-Kyo in a television drama. Produced by SBS, the film stood out in 2003 with its exceptional storyline, star-studded cast, and meticulously crafted scenes.
The story revolves around In-Ha (Lee Byung Hun),who was orphaned at birth and raised by his father's friend, a former gambler. He meets and falls in love with Soo-yeon (Song Hye-Kyo). However, he is falsely accused of a murder and is forced to flee to the United States. In L.A and Las Vegas, he learns the art of poker and becomes a seasoned gambler. He wins the international chess championship and becomes involved in managing a hotel and casino, leading to a successful career. His romantic relationship with Soo-yeon comes to an end when he leaves for the U.S, and they lose contact. Meanwhile, Soo-yeon, in the U.S for research, receives help from Jung-Won (Ji Sung) and eventually marries him after a long period of infatuation.
In-Ha returns to South Korea, but Soo-Yeon's heart aches for him, as she believed he was dead. In-Ha and Jung-Won find themselves in a life-or-death battle in their intertwined lives...
