Kundo: Age of the Rampant (2014) is a Vietnamese-subtitled film set in the backdrop of a crisis-ridden society in South Korea. The country is plagued by natural disasters and poor harvests, resulting in widespread poverty and death. However, the ruling elite and nobility, despite being aware of the dire situation and rampant greed, remain indifferent to the plight of the people.
The film portrays a dark era in Korean history, where the gap between the rich and the poor widens, and the suffering of the common people is ignored. The constant natural calamities and lack of food have pushed the society to the brink of collapse. Yet, the ruling class continues to exploit and oppress the masses, prioritizing their own interests over the welfare of the nation.
In this turbulent period, a group of rebels emerges, known as Kundo, who fight against the corrupt ruling class. They seek justice and equality for the oppressed, challenging the established order and risking their lives for the greater good. Kundo: Age of the Rampant sheds light on the dark side of power and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
