I Can See Your Voice Season 5 VietSub
I Can See Your Voice Season 5 VietSub, also known as ICSYV, is an international music game show based on the Korean version of the same name. The show introduces a group of "mystery singers" and the task of the guest artists in each round is to eliminate the bad singers without hearing their real voices, with the help of advisors and clues provided by the show. The guest artists eliminate one or two mystery singers at the end of each round, and the eliminated singers then perform their real voices on stage. At the end of the show, the chosen mystery singer's voice will be revealed as either good or bad through a duet with one of the guest artists. The guest artist wins if they keep a good singer until the end of the show, and the remaining mystery singer receives the show's prize.
In other versions, a non-celebrity player participates in the show. The player receives a cash prize for correctly eliminating each bad singer. In the final round, the player can choose to take the prize money if they think the last mystery singer will sing badly, or continue the show for a chance to win a special prize.
The original version of the show has three rounds with different rules in each season. The rounds include Singer's Visual, where the difference between good and bad singers is judged based on their appearance and costumes; Singer's Lip-sync, where the guest artists choose based on the lip-sync performance of the players; and Singer's Proof, where each mystery singer presents evidence in different ways. The guest artists and advisors use headphones to listen to the mystery singer's voice for 30 seconds and then defend their choice to the guest artist, whether they sing well or not. The guest artist selects a clue for each mystery singer based on the host's random clues. The guest artist uses the clue to determine the identity of the mystery singer, and then decides who is the good singer and who is the bad singer.
There have been controversies surrounding the show, with accusations of plagiarism against Chinese programs God of Songs and X-Singer, which allegedly copied the format of ICSYV without permission. However, God of Songs became successful due to its high viewership ratings and even created a trend on social media.
ICSYV has been nominated for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment at the 44th International Emmy Awards, along with Gogglebox, Adotada, and the eventual winner Allt för Sverige.
Thanks to the popularity of the show in South Korea, I Can See Your Voice has become an international game show, owned by CJ ENM and other television production companies. Since 2016, the international versions of ICSYV have been broadcast in 18 countries around the world. The Vietnamese version, Giọng ải giọng ai, has a similar format to ICSYV but is designed as a "duel format" and is recognized as part of the international version because its unique format has been used for other ICSYV production partners.
