Gangster Vô Danh, Nameless Gangster (2012)

Gangster Vô Danh VietSub, Nameless Gangster (2012),directed by Jong-bin Yun, gained recognition after his debut film, The Unforgiven. The film was highly anticipated, with a star-studded cast including Min-sik Choi, Jung-woo Ha, and Jin-woong Jo, and a budget of 18 million USD. Set in Busan during the 1980s and 1990s, a time when corruption and organized crime were rampant, the film tells the story of Choi Ik-Hyun (Choi Min Sik),a former customs officer, and crime boss Choi Hyung Bae (Ha Jung-Woo). In 1982, Choi Ik-Hyun becomes a customs officer at Busan Port and, along with three colleagues, engages in corrupt practices. This leads to an internal investigation, and the customs officials decide to sacrifice one of them to continue their operations. Choi Ik-Hyun is chosen due to his lack of family ties. One night, Choi Ik-Hyun witnesses two men breaking into a warehouse through the CCTV system. When he confronts them, a violent altercation ensues, and the two men escape. Choi Ik-Hyun and his colleague investigate the warehouse and discover a large quantity of packaged heroin. Choi Ik-Hyun proposes to his colleague that they sell the heroin, and he will retire from the department, becoming a failure for his involvement in the investigation. Meanwhile, his colleague reveals that the imprisoned boss, Choi Hyung-Bae, has connections with the Japanese yakuza and has been involved in heroin trafficking, leading to further complications.
