Chiến Binh Baek Dong Soo, Warrior Baek Dong Soo (2011)

Warrior Baek Dong Soo is a historical drama set in the Joseon dynasty during the reign of King Jeongjo. The story revolves around the events related to the conspiracy of Crown Prince Sado. Baek Dong Soo, a real-life legend, creates a martial arts guide in Joseon. His group, who protects King Jeongjo, clashes with a mysterious organization of assassins plotting to kill the king. Crown Prince Sado challenges the strength of No-Ron. In retaliation, No-Ron conspires with the Qing Dynasty to plot a rebellion against Crown Prince Sado. To save Crown Prince Sado's son, King Youngjo and No-Ron agree to kill Baek Sa-Geong, the closest contact of the Crown Prince, and use him as a sacrificial pawn. Baek Sa-Geong kills his family, including his unborn child, before being executed. Before being beheaded, Baek Sa-Geong turns to his closest friend, Kim Kwang-Taek, who is considered his best swordsman, and asks him to take care of his wife and unborn child. With the help of swordsman Kim Kwang-Taek, Baek Sa-Geong's pregnant wife manages to escape. Meanwhile, soldiers conduct a search for Baek Sa-Geong's wife and unborn child. Baek Sa-Geong's wife finally gives birth to a baby boy named Dong-Soo. Immediately after giving birth, the mother dies. The soldiers arrive at the house to capture the mother and her accomplices. Martial arts master Kim Kwang-Taek and the newborn baby are captured. The newborn baby is supposed to be thrown into boiling water when Crown Prince Sado arrives and displays the king's order in which he calls for the forgiveness of Kim Kwang-Taek, but not the baby. Kim Kwang-Taek pleads for the baby's life. He offers to cut off his own arm to save the baby, and his offer is accepted. Even after Kim Kwang-Taek loses his arm, the men try to kill Dong-Soo. Kim Kwang-Taek decides to escape to the Qing Dynasty with Dong-Soo. On the way, Kim Kwang-Taek is ambushed by assassins. He hides baby Dong-Soo before fighting the assassins. When Kim Kwang-Taek returns, the baby is gone. A man named Hwang Jin-Gi finds baby Dong-Soo in the mountains. Hwang Jin-Gi notices the baby's name written on his clothes and takes him back to the house where he was born. Hook Sa-Mo, a friend of Dong-Soo's father, raises Dong-Soo. At the age of 12, Dong-Soo's health becomes poor. He cannot run or even raise his own arm. He is constantly teased by other children.
